You don’t have to smuggle Juul to your plane while traveling. You can take it!
There are some rules and restrictions when flying Juuls. Juul pods and Juul pens are handled differently.
This post takes about 2 minutes to read and finally gives you an accurate idea of what to do with Juul during the flight.
Let’s see what the TSA is saying …
JuulTSA rules
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is the person who manages the security of the airport. It’s their job to check their baggage and decide what they can and cannot do on the plane.
They don’t specifically mention the Juul Vape Pen on their website, but they do have general guidelines for vape devices, e-cigarettes, vape juice, e-liquids, and lithium batteries.
Can you take Juul on the plane?
The first relevant rule is that e-cigarettes and e-cigarettes should not be in checked baggage.
Therefore, you can carry Juul in your carry-on baggage, but you cannot pack Juul in your checked baggage.
When you carry Juul in your carry-on baggage, you may be asked to check your bag at the gate if there is not enough space in the overhead trash can.
In this case, you will need to remove Juul from your suitcase and bring it into your cabin. Juul devices should not be transported within the hold of the aircraft.
This is because the risk of Juul failing and catching fire is small. If a fire breaks out in an aircraft baggage depot, this can have disastrous consequences, as no one can extinguish the fire.
There is another Juul-related rule that you must follow.
Is it possible to fly Juul Pods?
All liquids carried in carry-on baggage must be placed in a container of less than 100 ml (3.4 ounces).
Juul pods contain arc juice, but one Juul pod has only 0.7 ml of arc juice. So while the Juul pods are small enough, all Juul pods need to be packed in a quart-sized plastic liquid bag.
This is the same bag that holds shampoo, shower gel, sunscreen, toothpaste, etc.
You need to remove the Juul pod from Juul. Discard half-empty Juul pods as changes in air pressure can cause leaks. Pack unused Juul pods in a quart-sized toiletry bag.
You can pack as many Juul pods as you can fit in a quart bag.
In addition, if you are flying in checked baggage, the Juul pod can be carried in checked baggage. The Juul pen itself must be carried in carry-on baggage, but the Juul pod can be stored in checked baggage.
Is it possible to carry a Juul portable charger on an airplane?
A third rule to be aware of is about power banks and battery chargers.
Spare lithium batteries and power banks cannot be placed in checked baggage. Therefore, if you have a Juul Portable charger, do not put it in your checked baggage.
You don’t have to worry about the size of the lithium battery in your Juul or Juul portable charger. Juul has a battery capacity of less than 1 watt hour and a Juul portable charger has a capacity of less than 3 watt hours.
Word On The Twittersphere
Allen asked the TSA what would happen if he forgot Juul and put it in his checked baggage:
The bad news is that if you put Juul in a checked suitcase, it’s likely to be detected and destroyed by the scanner.
Zack lost Juul flying American Airlines. I don’t know how that happened because his Juul has no reason to leave the bag in flight!
Lauren wasn’t happy that someone smoked next to her during the flight with Delta Air Lines.
Pay homage to other passengers and don’t use Juul on planes!
JetBlue has enacted a law reminding people that using Juul in the bathroom could result in fines.

And Dion was shocked when someone started using his Juul shortly after landing on a United Airlines flight:
The Verdict
A simple piece of advice is to take Juul and move on. Be sure to discard the opened JuulPod and store the new JuulPod in a quart-sized toiletry bag.
If you are worried about nicotine withdrawal, consider a nicotine patch.
Don’t try to smoke that Juul in the toilet of an airplane!
