You need to officially check in at the hotel, but it is important to understand that in many cases you do not need to go to the front desk to officially check out the hotel.
Many business travelers go to the front desk without a word and simply use the card left by the hotel to be billed later.
There are several ways to interpret this question. We recommend jumping to the most relevant section.

- When can I check out the hotel? — Do I have to leave near the scheduled check-out time, like – or can I check out at another time? Can I check out before the check-out time? – If my check-out time is 11:00 am, do I have to stay until 11:00 am?

Does the hotel charge for early check-out?
If you have booked a few nights but have to depart before the scheduled departure date, the hotel industry calls this an early departure.
You may be wondering if you’re leaving early, but do you still pay the full amount?
Whether or not the hotel charges unused room rates depends on the policy of the hotel in which it is staying and the agreement with the hotel.
Many hotels charge an early departure fee for shorter stays. If they do this, you will not be charged for the rest of the night you booked but did not use.
On the other hand, hotel policy may stipulate that no refunds will be given for early departures. That is, you will be billed for the entire booking period. This is more likely to happen if you book some kind of transaction.
Different early departure policies may apply to each hotel and certain offers, even within the same hotel brand.
There is no substitute for checking the policies of a particular hotel. You can usually find it on their website.

If you want to check out early before your scheduled departure date, the hotel’s response depends on the contract you made at the time of booking.
The hotel may be better aware if there is a valid reason for the last minute cancellation. B. Family emergency.

How soon can I check out the hotel?
We provide a payment method when booking or checking in at most hotels in the United States.
Therefore, the hotel does not have to follow the checkout procedure to make money.
This means you don’t have to officially go to the reception to check out. You can enter and leave the hotel at any time.
You don’t have to wait in line if you’re offering a way to pay the hotel a move-out fee, but it would be more polite if you could return the key and let the hotel staff know you’re leaving.
If you want to change your payment method, get a printed version of your invoice, or check your invoice for errors, you’ll need to go to the counter to check for any errors. You can do this at any time.
Guests typically send the final invoice to their room the night before departure.
So all you have to do in the morning is get the key to your room and say goodbye. You don’t have to do that if you don’t want to, but it helps you know when the hotel left and you can send housekeeping to clean the room.
Can I check out before the check-out time?
The standard check-out time in the United States is 11:00 am. You certainly don’t have to wait until 11am.
Many guests wake up for an early morning flight and wake up before the front desk opens.
You can leave the hotel at any time, you don’t have to check out at all. So if you’re just starting early, you can go as fast as you like.
If you need a paper copy of your invoice and want to check your room bill, you can do this the night before you leave.
If you want to shorten your stay and do not pay for the days you do not stay, you will need to negotiate with the hotel staff.
It is unlikely that you can simply start early and not pay the penalty. The hotel reserved a room for you and didn’t sell it to anyone because you said you wanted it.
You may be able to pay an early departure fee of up to one night, but if you sign up for a special offer, you may have to pay the full amount.
